Homecoming by Marj Ostani

How do I make my entire life a love letter to my family, friends, lovers, communities, strangers and everyone I meet in between? The heart of my debut chapbook lies here. "Homecoming" is a collection of poetry that centers around my life’s work as an artist in my mid-20s — a highlight of our collective love stories I’ve witnessed, experienced and gathered through the years. This book remains proof that the kind of world where I live is where I and we are beyond possibilities. And in this world, I will keep centering myself and my people. I want all our stories to last forever.

Marj Ostani's debut collection "Homecoming" highlights love stories she's witnessed, experienced, and gathered through her mid-twenties. Homecoming aims straight to subjects of intimacy, vulnerabilities, chances, yearning, and romance. It follows encounters that were instant, quiet, funny, warm, and safe. It asks the central questions of, “Where is home? When’s the last time you felt at home? Who’s your home?" Our answers might not conquer all but isn’t here a good place to start?
